Achieve Academic Excellence

Founded in 1983, academic excellence is at the core of our mission at Lycée Français International de Mumbai (English – The French International School of Mumbai), a private co-educational day school located in the heart of Mumbai at Lower Parel.

Our students benefit from a unique bilingual curriculum, based on the French Education System, world-renowned for its high academic standards, structured reasoning and critical thinking.

We provide our students from 2 years old to 18 years old, with a complete curriculum taught in English and in French by a dedicated, highly qualified team of teachers. Because we teach both in French and English, we pay particular attention to the linguistic progress of our students. Our teachers are trained to help newcomers reach rapid proficiency either in French or English, in order to gain confidence and succeed academically.

The French Baccalaureate is the paved way to apply to the most renowned universities in India and around the world.

We believe small classes, confident interactions with teachers and other students, school projects and personalised teaching contribute to the well being and academic successes of our students.

Mumbai's Bilingual School

Ever since our founding, Lycée Français International de Mumbai, formerly known as Ecole Française Internationale de Mumbai, has always been in the heart of Maximum City.

The school laid down its roots in 1983 in the Breach Candy neighbourhood of South Mumbai. Later, the premises relocated to a picturesque and idyllic bungalow at Worli, with greenery all around.

With the need for an even bigger premises, the school moved in 2019 to its current location at Lower Parel, with world class facilities that provide the very best for our students.

As Mumbai continues to evolve and welcome residents from all over the world, so does LFIM.

Live Local, Think Global: An International Education

Following the French Curriculum supervised and accredited by AEFE (The Agency for French Education Abroad), each LFIM student has the opportunity and flexibility to attend and continue his or her education within 535 schools located across 139 different countries.

Coming from over 24 nationalities, our students represent the uniqueness of Mumbai : a buoyant, pulsing, international megacity. We promote the French ‘touch’, but are deeply part of our local environment. Being in a truly international school helps our students develop their curiosity, adaptability and open-mindedness. We interact with both Indian and French academic and cultural institutions in order to bring the best of both cultures to our students.

Thrive in a Secure, Creative and Positive Environment

We at LFIM are all part of one family, and believe that our students’ well-being is at the core element of our mission.

This is why we take extra care into promoting personal development through arts, sports and community actions, both within our curriculum, and though the 15+ extra-curricular activities we offer thanks to our facilities.

Most importantly, we are dedicated to providing a warm, welcoming and positive environment to our students, their families, teachers and the whole community. It is important for us that our students’ families are involved in daily school life, through various events and celebrations, of both French and Indian cultures.

Targeting a low student to teacher ratio per class (7:1), students are given individual attention by their teachers, ensuring no doubts are left uncleared and maximizing class participation. This empowers students in asking questions without hesitation.

A ‘haute couture’ curriculum and small classes that allow personalised monitoring, LFIM encapsulates French culture with real openness to the host country.

Gateway to Europe

LFIM is officially accredited by the French Ministry of Education and finds itself in the company of more than 61,900 schools in France, along with the 535 schools of the AEFE network. France consistently ranks amongst the top 10 countries in the world for higher education, and LFIM is your child’s gateway to it. With the recent signing of agreements between India and France, the ability to study in either country is now easier than ever before.
