At this stage, the students focus on learning to read and write, mastering languages and developing a solid foundation in arts and mathematics.
The pedagogy pursued during this stage encourages further development of the fundamental concepts introduced in the previous grades, and introduces new concepts, notably in mathematics and grammar. In parallel, an introduction to history, geography and art is taken forward. The curriculum is designed to facilitate a smooth transition to secondary school.
Language development is at the core of our elementary school.
In order to become bilingual, children need to experience the many dimensions of language (listening, speaking, reading and writing) in both languages in a motivating, reassuring environment that makes sense to them. We look at bilingualism as its own language and not merely the combination of learning both at the same time.
Students entering elementary begin to question the world at large. The least we could do is answer them.
